
I teach Pilates classes with both group sessions and one-to-one Pilates instruction available, both in person and online, featuring the Stott Pilates method.
Stott Pilates is a safe, effective, and fun exercise method that can be adapted for all bodies and abilities. Regularly attending Pilates classes can significantly reduce back pain, improve posture, and strengthen and tone muscles.
The Stott Pilates method has its roots in the Classical Pilates repertoire, known as 'Contrology,' which was created by Joseph Pilates. However, Stott Pilates represents a more contemporary approach than the original methods developed in the 1920s. In addition to drawing on classical concepts, Stott Pilates incorporates modern principles of exercise science and spinal rehabilitation.
Strength and Flexibility
Stott Pilates emphasizes building core strength, enhancing spinal flexibility, and increasing body awareness, while also encouraging mindfulness during the exercises.
Equipment
In our classes, we utilize props and small equipment, such as the flex band, small stability ball, and Pilates fitness circle, to modify exercises or create additional challenges.
After 11 years of practicing Pilates, I decided to train to teach the Stott Pilates method. The birth of my second child led me to Pilates, initially for the post-pregnancy physical benefits, but I quickly became aware of other wellbeing gains, particularly the mindfulness that came with the movement. Pilates still gives me this mind-body connection. When I'm not doing Pilates or teaching classes, I spend time with my children, family, friends, and a small furry rescue dog.

I run three Beckenham Pilates classes that are suitable for all skill levels, providing expert Pilates instruction, including Stott Pilates techniques.

If preferred, I can also offer virtual sessions for Beckenham Pilates classes, either individually or as part of a course, including Stott Pilates instruction.
